Private Gardens

At Haling Park Care Home, we are fortunate to house beautiful landscaped gardens, offering residents the ideal, safe space to stretch their legs, enjoy fresh air and take in the natural beauty our gardens have to offer.

Embrace Nature

Outdoor Activities

When the weather permits, our Activity Coordinator arranges for a variety of activities to take place in the garden. Enjoying the outdoors offers residents a refreshing change of scenery and the chance to observe the many kinds of wildlife that visit us. With opportunities such as planting flowers and vegetables, watering plants, and maintaining bird feeders, there is always something enjoyable to do in our private garden.

The area is securely fenced, providing peace of mind for everyone, and umbrellas are available to offer shade and shelter on sunny or breezy days. Residents can also take part in outdoor giant games, or relax while enjoying singing sessions and light entertainment, which are frequently held in the garden whenever the weather allows.

We actively encourage all residents to participate in gardening and outdoor activities, helping them experience the many health, social, and emotional benefits that come with spending time in nature.

A Feast for the Senses

Sensory Garden

Our sensory garden features four themed corners designed to engage and delight the senses. ‘The Beach’ offers a relaxing space where residents can reminisce about past seaside holidays, complete with evocative sights and sounds. The ‘Herb Garden’ is filled with stimulating and therapeutic scents, where herbs and tomatoes are also grown and later incorporated into our dining experience, adding freshness and flavour to meals. ‘Bug Corner’ bursts with bright colours and rich textures, attracting butterflies and other pollinators to create a lively, interactive atmosphere. There is also a small water feature, that adds a gentle, soothing sound that enhances the garden’s calming ambiance. The sensory garden was created in order to stimulate our residents’ senses in many ways, by providing a plethora of smells, lots of colourful flowers and different textures.
