A sensory room is a specially designed room in the home that offers gentle stimulation for the five senses: sight, sound, touch, smell, and sometimes even taste. This stimulation can be calming or invigorating, depending on the needs of the individual.

Familiar scents, sounds, and tactile objects can spark reminiscence, especially for those living with dementia. These moments of reconnection with the past can bring feelings of comfort and joy, reducing confusion and promoting a sense of identity.
